Broadcom Brocade Fabric OS Code Injection Vulnerability (CVE-2025-1976)
Broadcom Brocade Fabric OS contains a code injection vulnerability that allows a local user with administrative privileges to execute arbitrary code with full root privileges.
A local attacker, with administrative privileges, can achieve full data confidentiality loss, arbitrary modification of data, complete denial of service or system unavailability. Federal agencies are required to remediate by 2025-05-19 under CISA BOD 22-01.
This is a Code Injection (CWE-94) vulnerability in Broadcom Brocade Fabric OS. Brocade Fabric OS versions starting with 9.1.0 have root access removed, however, a local user with admin privilege can potentially execute arbitrary code with full root privileges on Fabric OS versions 9.1.0 through 9.1.1d6. Exploitation requires local access, low attack complexity, an administrative account, and no user interaction required.
