Cleo Multiple Products Unauthenticated File Upload Vulnerability
Cleo Harmony, VLTrader, and LexiCom, which are managed file transfer products, contain an unrestricted file upload vulnerability that could allow an unauthenticated user to import and execute arbitrary bash or PowerShell commands on the host system by leveraging the default settings of the Autorun directory.
A remote attacker, without authentication, can achieve full data confidentiality loss, arbitrary modification of data, complete denial of service or system unavailability. CISA has confirmed use of this vulnerability in known ransomware campaigns — treat as high priority for remediation. Federal agencies are required to remediate by 2025-01-07 under CISA BOD 22-01.
This is a Command Injection (CWE-77) vulnerability in Cleo Multiple Products. In Cleo Harmony before 5.8.0.24, VLTrader before 5.8.0.24, and LexiCom before 5.8.0.24, an unauthenticated user can import and execute arbitrary Bash or PowerShell commands on the host system by leveraging the default settings of the Autorun directory. Exploitation requires remote network access, low attack complexity, no authentication required, and no user interaction required.
