Google Chromium V8 Improper Restriction of Operations Within the Bounds of a Memory Buffer Vulnerability
Google Chromium V8 contains an improper restriction of operations within the bounds of a memory buffer vulnerability that could allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code inside a sandbox via a crafted HTML page. This vulnerability could affect multiple web browsers that utilize Chromium, including, but not limited to, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Opera.
A remote attacker, without authentication, can achieve full data confidentiality loss, arbitrary modification of data, complete denial of service or system unavailability. Federal agencies are required to remediate by 2026-03-27 under CISA BOD 22-01.
This is a Code Injection (CWE-94) vulnerability in Google Chromium V8. Inappropriate implementation in V8 in Google Chrome prior to 146.0.7680.75 allowed a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code inside a sandbox via a crafted HTML page. (Chromium security severity: High) Exploitation requires remote network access, low attack complexity, no authentication required, and user interaction required.
