Google Chromium V8 Type Confusion Vulnerability
Google Chromium contains a type confusion vulnerability in the V8 JavaScript and WebAssembly engine.
A remote attacker, without authentication, can achieve full data confidentiality loss, arbitrary modification of data, complete denial of service or system unavailability. Federal agencies are required to remediate by 2025-10-14 under CISA BOD 22-01.
This is a Type Confusion (CWE-843) vulnerability in Google Chromium V8. Type confusion in V8 in Google Chrome prior to 140.0.7339.185 allowed a remote attacker to potentially exploit heap corruption via a crafted HTML page. (Chromium security severity: High) Exploitation requires remote network access, low attack complexity, no authentication required, and no user interaction required.
