Hitachi Vantara Pentaho BA Server Authorization Bypass Vulnerability
Hitachi Vantara Pentaho BA Server contains a use of non-canonical URL paths for authorization decisions vulnerability that enables an attacker to bypass authorization.
A remote attacker, without authentication, can achieve partial data exposure, partial data tampering, complete denial of service or system unavailability. Federal agencies are required to remediate by 2025-03-24 under CISA BOD 22-01.
This is a Software Vulnerability (CWE-647) (CWE-647) vulnerability in Hitachi Vantara Pentaho Business Analytics (BA) Server. Hitachi Vantara Pentaho Business Analytics Server versions before 9.4.0.1 and 9.3.0.2, including 8.3.x contain security restrictions using non-canonical URLs which can be circumvented. Exploitation requires remote network access, low attack complexity, no authentication required, and no user interaction required.
