MongoDB mongo-express Remote Code Execution Vulnerability
mongo-express before 0.54.0 is vulnerable to Remote Code Execution via endpoints that uses the `toBSON` method.
A remote attacker, with a low-privilege account, can achieve full data confidentiality loss, arbitrary modification of data, complete denial of service or system unavailability. Federal agencies are required to remediate by 2022-06-10 under CISA BOD 22-01.
This is a Code Injection (CWE-94) vulnerability in MongoDB mongo-express. mongo-express before 0.54.0 is vulnerable to Remote Code Execution via endpoints that uses the `toBSON` method. A misuse of the `vm` dependency to perform `exec` commands in a non-safe environment. Exploitation requires remote network access, low attack complexity, a low-privilege authenticated account, and no user interaction required.
