NAKIVO Backup and Replication Absolute Path Traversal Vulnerability (CVE-2024-48248)
NAKIVO Backup and Replication contains an absolute path traversal vulnerability that enables an attacker to read arbitrary files.
A remote attacker, without authentication, can achieve full data confidentiality loss. Federal agencies are required to remediate by 2025-04-09 under CISA BOD 22-01.
This is a Software Vulnerability (CWE-36) (CWE-36) vulnerability in NAKIVO Backup and Replication. NAKIVO Backup & Replication before 11.0.0.88174 allows absolute path traversal for reading files via getImageByPath to /c/router (this may lead to remote code execution across the enterprise because PhysicalDiscovery has cleartext credentials). Exploitation requires remote network access, low attack complexity, no authentication required, and no user interaction required.
