Qualitia Active! Mail Stack-Based Buffer Overflow Vulnerability
Qualitia Active! Mail contains a stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability that allows a remote, unauthenticated attacker to execute arbitrary or trigger a denial-of-service via a specially crafted request.
A remote attacker, without authentication, can achieve full data confidentiality loss, arbitrary modification of data, complete denial of service or system unavailability. Federal agencies are required to remediate by 2025-05-19 under CISA BOD 22-01.
This is a Stack-based Buffer Overflow (CWE-121) vulnerability in Qualitia Active! Mail. Active! mail 6 BuildInfo: 6.60.05008561 and earlier contains a stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability. Receiving a specially crafted request created and sent by a remote unauthenticated attacker may lead to arbitrary code execution and/or a denial-of-service (DoS) condition. Exploitation requires remote network access, low attack complexity, no authentication required, and no user interaction required.
