Srimax Output Messenger Directory Traversal Vulnerability
Srimax Output Messenger contains a directory traversal vulnerability that allows an attacker to access sensitive files outside the intended directory, potentially leading to configuration leakage or arbitrary file access.
A remote attacker, without authentication, can achieve partial data exposure, partial data tampering. Federal agencies are required to remediate by 2025-06-09 under CISA BOD 22-01.
This is a Software Vulnerability (CWE-24) (CWE-24) vulnerability in Srimax Output Messenger. Output Messenger before 2.0.63 was vulnerable to a directory traversal attack through improper file path handling. By using ../ sequences in parameters, attackers could access sensitive files outside the intended directory, potentially leading to configuration leakage or arbitrary file access. Exploitation requires remote network access, low attack complexity, no authentication required, and no user interaction required.
